In May of 2002, we quit our jobs, sold our house and became
full-time RVers. We traveled for a full year, making a loop
around the entire country. We refer to that wonderful year as
our Great Adventure and still consider it the best year of our
lives.
On Great Adventure, we started west from New England,
covered the northern United States, and ventured in and out
of Canada. During the fall, we traveled down the coasts of
Washington, Oregon, and California. We explored Arizona in
January, zoomed across the south in February, and toured
Florida in March. Finally, for six weeks, we followed the
migration of spring up the east coast via the Blue Ridge
Parkway.
We loved traveling but had to go back to work. So we segued
our careers into the RV industry so we could follow the
snowbirds. Now we work in CT from May through October.
For three years, we worked in Leesburg, FL for the winter.
During 2006-2007, we were in Tucson, Arizona. We were in
Tampa, Florida in 2007-2008. In December 2008, we bought a
house in Lake Alfred, FL as a home base for each winter.
In October of 2006, we began keeping a web-based
travelogue, or "blog", at http://protechrvtravel.blogspot.com.
It covers our travels in our off seasons each springtime and
fall.
